- 1 pound bacon ends and pieces, chopped
- 1 onion, peeled and sliced thinly
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
- 2 medium cabbage, cored and chopped (about 5 cups)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
In a wide pan over medium heat, add bacon and cook, stirring occasionally, until it begins to crisp and render fat.
Add onions and garlic and cook until softened.
Add cabbage and stir to distribute.
Cover, lower heat and cook until vegetable begins to wilt.
Add sugar, salt, onion powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, and pepper.
Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 to 15 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
