Howell's Bread (also known as Josephina's bread) is loaded with mayo, diced green chiles, and cheese. With loads of cheesy goodness and a kick of spice, this cheesy bread is seriously addicting!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sourdough or French bread
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 4.5 ounces diced green chilies
  • 1 cup cheddar jack cheese, shredded
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions

  • Split the bread loaf in half lengthwise.
  • In a bowl, combine butter and garlic powder. Spread mixture on the cut side of each half of bread loaf.
  • In another bowl, combine mayonnaise and diced chilies. Spread mixture over the butter mixture.
  • Sprinkle cheese and paprika.
  • Bake in a 400 F oven until lightly browned and bubbly. 
  • Garnish with green onions and slice into serving pieces.
