Along with delicious sandwich sliders, we also have an ongoing series of fun food here on the blog. The Winnie the Pooh cupcakes, Minion cupcakes and whoopie pies have been so well-received, I am excited to add more stuff! I hope you’ll find a few you’d try; they’re a cool activity to do with the whole family.

These Soccer Oreo Cookie Pops are just in time for the FIFA World Cup! They make a sweet addition to a game day or soccer-themed birthday party menu as well as a special treat for the sports enthusiasts on your list.

Huddle the kiddos together! These Oreo pops are so easy to make, all you need are four ingredients and simple materials you can buy at any local supermarket or craft store.

How to Make Soccer Oreo Pops

Oreo cookies, white candy melts, brown candy melts, lollipop sticks and piping bag to make Soccer Oreo Pops

Ingredients

  • Oreo cookies
  • 2 cups white candy melts
  • green candy grass
  • 1 cup brown or black candy melts
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Parchment paper
  • Decorating bags

Instructions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small microwaveable bowl, melt white candy melts in the microwave on 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until smooth and melted.

If the melted chocolate is too thick, stir in about a tablespoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to thin out.

Open each Oreo, dip the end of each lollipop stick into the melted white chocolate and press the stick into the Oreo white filling. Place a dollop of melted candy melts onto the center and press the cookies together.

Let the chocolate harden for a few minutes to keep the cookie pops sturdy.

Holding the lollipop stick, dip the Oreo into the melted white chocolate. Let the excess chocolate to drip off.  Roll the outside edges of the chocolate covered Oreos on the candy grass.

Place the Oreo pops in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and freeze for about 8 to 10 minutes.

In a small microwaveable bowl, melt brown candy melts in the microwave on 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until melted. Pour the melted chocolate into a decorating bag and cut a tiny tip off the bottom of the bag.

Using the melted brown candy decorating bag, draw hexagons and lines on the Oreo cookie pops to resemble a soccer ball.

How to Make Edible Candy Grass

You can find edible candy “grass” in most craft stores or online (this is NOT an affiliate link). You can also make your own using desiccated coconut and food coloring.

Put the coconut in a resealable bag. In a small bowl, stir together one tablespoon of water and a few drops of green food coloring until desired color is reached. Add the solution over the coconut in the bag, seal and shake the bag until the coconut shreds are evenly colored.

It’s now ready to use for decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies, candies, and, of course, these Soccer Oreo pops. Enjoy!
